Dress shopping

One of the biggest parts of our planning has now been completed. We have chosen our bridal party/groomsmen which was a huge weight off our shoulders. I'm going to have 3 bridesmaids (lizz, hayley & kimberley) and Scott is going to have 3 groomsmen (Tom, Tim & the third tbc as scott hasnt asked the lucky fella yet!)

My lovely MoH, Lizz, and I started the big search for dresses recently. We set an afternoon aside and went and hit the most local bridal shops. The plan for the day was to get a good look at the various types of bridesmaid dresses available - what we like and dont like - so that we can take Kimbles out to narrow the choices down. Unfortunately because Hayley lives in Australia we dont have the luxury of being able to go out all together. Hopefully Hayley trusts us enough to come up with a gorgeous frock for her as well!

I've decided to hold off choosing my wedding colours until i've found the bridesmaid dresses which I keep being told is a bit backwards! I just dont want to find the dresses and for them to then be the wrong colour.. its the right way round in my head!!

Blog-tastic!

After a few months away from my blog, i'm back in full addictive mode! I've spent this lovely rainy, autumny Sunday on my newly created comfy corner in our room at home. I've been researching other wedding blogs and have discovered that the majority of the most popular wedding blogs have been started by a struggling bride, overflowing with inspiration and needing a place to store all those bubbling ideas and creativity! This insight has made me feel a whole lot better! I thought I was the only one not coping with all these amazing ideas that are around on the net.

I've added loads of links to the link section today in a hope that this will start to make me a big more organised and have also added an inspiration page which i'll add images of particularly lovely weddingy bit n bobs!

So to update you on my current wedding process. We have set a date of 8 October 2011 (now less than 11 months away!), booked the venue for the ceremony and for the reception. We are holding the ceremony at Poole's Guildhall.

We've also sorted the wedding car. A friend of the family is going to let us borrow their car for the wedding and it turns out its a rather special 1979 Cadillac Seville Gucci Edition, which Bish assures me is awesome!

We have also brought the "champagne". In keeping with our major budget wedding, we managed to get a sparkling wine when it was on offer in Lidl so it worked out at £1 a bottle! Bargain!! Neither of us are a huge fan of champagne and our budget certainly isnt keen, we both really liked this sparkly stuff so we thought why not! It's now safe and sound in my Mum's garage until the wedding day.

So all in all with 11 months to go we have at least made a start!
